Salvation is not a one time event, Salvation is actually a process, marked by different events.
Is a person who didn't finish this process lost? The answer is not at all.
If a person is already commited to God, then God will save that person on the basis of that Faith. God is the Final Judge.
Step One: FAITH
John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
Step Two: REPENTANCE
Luke 13:5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
Step Three: BAPTISM
Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
Step Four: RECEIVING OF GOD'S SPIRIT
Romans 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his
Step Five: STUDY OF HIS WORD
2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Step Six: KNOWLEDGE OF GOD
John 8:24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.
Step Seven: OBEDIENCE TO GOD
I John 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
